Carrier Shell: Images on/in/of/and the Built Environment
Carrier Shell: Images on/in/of/and the Built Environment is the culmination of an ongoing collaboration with author, architectural designer, and educator Nikole Bouchard. The publication extrapolates on the metaphorical and physical connections between images and the built environment, a concern we first began to explore as designers and illustrators for Bouchard’s publication Waste Matters: Adaptive Reuse for Productive Landscapes (Routledge). Carrier Shell aims to document a series of screen prints created in direct response to the inquisitive and iterative image production process we began in Waste Matters. The publication also features essays by Bouchard and ourselves, as well as documentation of experimental print works and graphic interventions created with Bouchard, interdisciplinary designer and musician, Milo Bonacci, and ourselves. The book was produced on the occasion of our 2021 exhibition Carrier Shell: Images on/in/of/and the Built Environment and was co-published by Sparkle Taffy and Sonnenzimmer.
