Wow. What a show. Let There Be Geo at Columbia College’s A+D Gallery is an exhibit of contemporary artists who utilize geometric forms in their work. Not sure if you’ve noticed, but that stuff is everywhere! Nadine and I were asked to put work in the exhibit. We were so psyched to be a part of the whole thing that we volunteered to make a special exhibit poster commemorating the show. There were some fantastic artist included in the show: Cody Hudson, Archer Prewitt, Sam Prekop and Maya Hayuk, just to name of few. So, Instead of using our usual imagery, we thought it would be cool to ask each of the artists in the show to submit an image. From there, we created this super geo firework explosion mash up. It was a treat to work with different pictures. It really got us moving! Like most of our work, this print was improvised from start to finish.
