This was a show poster for the art show “Waiting out the Rain”, which we had set up together with Alex Fuller of the Post Family, here in Chicago. In this exhibit, Swiss photographer, Ester Vonplon, paired her own photographs with those taken by the Roma children that she befriended while teaching photography workshops in Rahovec/Orahovac, a village in the South of Kosovo. The exhibit successfully documented the biting realities of a post-war environment through the eyes of an objective outsider and those of the people who experienced the war first hand. The work melds into an honest account of everyday life that is both heart wrenching and boldly human.
